this totally makes up for the fact that this is my back porch. yup-my fire pit is now an ice maker.
the first day of my birthday month...wtfreak?!
i got an email today saying that i won ! what a way to make up for the snow that started my birthday month!
i picked the letters 'rockstar' to put on a shirt for nate. because if you know him, you know that he thinks he is one. here is a link to the etsy shop if you want to see some adorable appliques! great for onsies or tshirts for your little rockstar!
enjoy day one of ba's birthday month 2010! 19 more to go!

a quite day at home in the snow...(and a second post today!)
then this morning at 5am there was 2+" on my driveway.
so to keep my mind off of my pain, i decided to work on something spring-y.it started with this towel from the dollar tree. if i were to make another one, i would spend the money and get a better quality one...maybe walmart or target.
here is the final product! i think it looks great in my main floor bath!
oh and this is the FAMOUS (in my book) mrs. pamela lane from dallastown high school. i took home ec for 3 years from her. so all of my sewing 'skills' come from being in her class. i dont know if she will be happy i published that or not...the little green bean

have you been to this blog yet? i'm a daily follower and im telling you...the cutest stuff and best ideas ever!
even better than mine!
that is saying alot-i know!
well, she is having this little birdy giveaway that you must enter! and if she hits 300 followers by this weekend...2 birds!
you know this bird will help with all the spring fever you have been having.
so enter her give away and follower the little green bean.
and if you aren't following ME yet...well-do it!
another apron
i have this thing for aprons.
if you remember, i made one not too long ago. i used simplicity pattern 3670, and despite what it says-it is NOT sew easy. that one took way too long to make and really didn't fit me in the chest.
this one has no problem fitting me in the chest (lol). it was way easier and i cant wait to bake something!
it's is springy and girly just like the last one! i couldn't be happier!

parker, on the other hand, could be. he didn't want to model this and i had to promise that i wouldn't have his face in the photo. which is really too bad because he one handsome boy! (he looks like me!)
i also started (but couldn't finish due to the fact that i ran out of bias tape! darn! and i really don't feel good enough to leave the house and get some more. so maybe tomorrow.) another one but i'm being brave and NOT USING A PATTERN!
I KNOW!
mrs. lane would be so proud of me trying this!
i should really check if she is on facebook...

so apron number 2 from this pattern. i'd make this one again.

spring where art thou??
i should say had.
some have broken beyond repair. mostly the straps breaking in the wash.
makes me so mad...
of course the obama one that i got as a joke from my sister in law from christmas in 2008 is still in working order. and i am so low on aprons, i use it all the time.
so i decided to make my very first apron and mrs. lane from dallastown high school in good old york pa would be so proud! i have never done darts or bias tape before-so there were somethings to learn. but i felt pretty good about myself reading and understanding the instructions. and even though it was one of those 'easy' patterns, it took me 2 afternoons to finish.
and as my handsome model shows, it is a nice girly, springy print. i love me some pink in this house full of boys!
(what you can't tell in the second photo is that my model nate is laughing because he realized the bow
i felt so good about this one, that i am making a second one! a different view on the same pattern. and i was thinking about making it for a friend for her birthday, but i might end up just keeping it.
got spring fever?!

then head on down to hobby lobby! they have flip flops on sale for 67 cents! they are in the clearance section where stuff is 66% off. there are tons of colors (pink, yellow, cheetah print...)you might not be able to wear them outside (how much snow was on YOUR driveway this morning?), but wear them in the house and turn up the heat really high!
and start praying for that groundhog NOT to see his shadow!
the hot ba! (courtsey of savers in midvale)
this is a cute spring (i know-a long way off) skirt from the limited. not only was it $5.99 (well, actually $4.91 with my savers discount) but it is also a size SMALL! woo hoo! wont this look adorable with a light blue-ish t-shirt or a cardigan?
and this STEAL is a navy blue twin set-both pieces for $7.99 ($6.41) and i cant find a snag or anything wrong with it!
as with all clothing i get at a thrift store, i wash it before wearing it or even putting it in my closet. i always drop off clean stuff, but not everyone is ba.
oh yea-those are my skinny jeans that i have on. those are from kohls, not from savers. but man i look hot in them!
daiseys are the happiest flower!

I KNOW! pier 1 imports tag is still on this baby! originally marked at $10, savers had it marked down to $2.99! then, because i made a 'donation', i got an extra 20% off-making this an amazing $2.41!
that is 75% off! and this isn't the first time i have found stuff from pier 1 there that has never been opened! this is just the first time i blogged about it.
won't this just be so cute this spring in my big apothecary jar!?
