ready for fall

arent we all?
i love the changing of the seasons that utah has,
but towards the end of the season, im ready to move on!
im looking forward to wearing sweaters and my sweet 'you lost 25 lbs you deserve these boots' boots.

i love the smell of leaves falling to the ground and my kids playing in them.

and going 'pumpkin hunting' with the kids.
we take out 'hunting' seriously here.
but mostly im all about the food. really, any decent reason to eat is a good enough one for me!
growing up, my nana made the BEST rice pudding. im not a pudding eater usually, but this i make an exception for. infact, unless it is 'nana's rice pudding', i wont touch it.

1 cup of rice (uncooked, generic...NO MINUTE RICE!!)
½ gallon milk
¼ LB margarine
¼ cup of sugar
1 cup water
bring to a boil and boil for 30 minutes.
STIR CONSTANTLY!
(yes-30 minutes of stirring! it can be your arm workout for the week!)
3 eggs, beaten
1 TBS vanilla
¾ cup of sugar
mix well and add after the 30 minutes is up.
stir well.
pour into 9 x 13 pan. sprinkle with cinnamon.

You look amazing! I love sweaters and boots too and fall but I'm still tightly gripping summer. It's a bit of a tug of war. 50 degrees last night here but 90s again Monday. Ahhh! lol I just need a little more time to accept that after fall comes snow. THAT I don't like.

Thanks so much for sharing nana's rice pudding in the DIY Show Off Fall Festival! Confession: Never had rice pudding! But sounds so so yummy (don't see an ingredient I don't like!) that I'm going to have to try it! I could use a good arm work out too! lol :)

Have a great weekend!

Congratulations on your weight loss - that is so great! Those boots are cute. I love rice pudding too - my grandma used to make it and now I cook it all the time and make my kids eat it. They don't like it - I can't figure out why!

Fall is absolutely my favorite! Kids go back to school, my twins have their birthday, football starts, leaves turn, everything smells like spice. Think I'll try your rice pudding and throw in some dried cranberries and allspice to "fall" it up!

I almost made this recipe a while back when I was asking about rice pudding but never actually got to it. I don't know if I like rice pudding. If you make it let me know so I can try a spoonful :)

First of all congrats on loosing 25lbs. I think that is worth a whole new wardrobe, boots included ;).

Can't wait for all of the holidays to begin.

Oh and you have SUCH adorable kiddos!

I absolutely LOVE rice pudding, but 30 minutes of constant stirring? I can't do anything for 30 minutes! But hey, if you ever feel the need to make your arm feel like jelly for 2 days, have lots of spare time on your hands and feel the pressure to share the love, I always accept yummy gifts, and you know where I live! Love it! (ok, really I am going to make this on Sunday)
